Located along Highway 290 just east of Fredericksburg, Wildseed Farms is the nation’s largest working wildflower farm. With more than 200 acres, it is truly a scenic oasis. Enjoy a walk

Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg has a half-mile of walking trails that wander through their vineyards, butterfly gardens, and wildflower gardens. During the peak season, grapes and flowers can be seen growing from both sides of the trails. You’ll find Texas favorites like bluebonnets, Indian blankets, poppies, coneflowers, primroses, snapdragons, black‑eyed Susans, daisies, and more.


The trails are wide and all are wheelchair accessible, making this a fun trip for everyone. Peak bloom season is March through early October with the fields and vineyards looking postcard perfect. Note that an admission fee is charged during peak bloom times. 

Go shopping

The 2,000-square foot Market Center at Wildseed Farms has almost everything you could think to buy. Women’s apparel, jewelry, home and garden decor, seasonal gifts, garden accessories, seeds, homemade goodies, specialty foods, and more can all be purchased here. 


The gift shop is open seven days a week from 10:00 to 6:00.

Visit the nursery

The fresh and vibrant plants at Wildseed’s Lantana Nursery provide visitors with a beautiful selection of Texas’s most lovely blooms. As one of the largest plant nurseries in Central Texas, you’ll be able to find a wide selection of perennials, annuals, and other plants and flowers for your home and garden.


The nursery also offers garden accessories, products, decor, and pottery to help you take your outdoor space to the next level. 

Stop by the tasting room

This Fredericksburg winery has 55 acres of vineyards on site and currently produces both estate Hill Country and High Plains grapes. Wildseed Farms uses these varieties to make their own selection of wines including Albarino, Tempranillo, and Mourvedre. 


Guests can choose between a chocolate & wine tasting, a dry wine tasting, or a sweet wine tasting. All experiences are guided by servers who are knowledgeable about wine and the wines produced on the property. Tastings start at $25 per person. Glasses of wine can also be purchased in the tasting room.

Experience the Biergarten

Visit the Brewbonnet Biergarten and see what this Fredericksburg brewery has to offer! In addition to curated craft beers, the biergarten has a selection of snacks and food including salsas, jams, and jellies. You can also get some homemade peach ice cream.


Spend an afternoon wandering through the butterfly gardens then come unwind at the Brewbonnet Biergarten with some craft beer and homemade goodness!

Buy Seeds

No trip to Wildseed Farms would be complete without buying some of their top-quality seeds. Wildseed Farms is the world’s largest producer of Texas Bluebonnets, and you can take home some seeds to grow your own. 


In addition to bluebonnet seeds, the farm also sells seeds for wildflowers, native grasses, fruit, vegetables, and culinary herbs. Their offerings are perfect for gardens of any size!
