Basse House

The gem of Hoffman Haus, this German homestead dates to 1871. This fabulous stone house offers two en-suite bedrooms, the Basse Suite and the Burrier Suite. The two are separated by an enclosed dogtrot and share a full kitchen.

The Basse Suite features an antique mahogany four poster bed set in front of a painted theatre backdrop dating to the mid-nineteenth century. The attached bathroom sports a large jacuzzi tub, separate rock and tile walk-in shower and stone fireplace with candles.

The Burrier Suite offers a cozy pine four poster bed and romantic corner fireplace with candles. The adjoining bathroom features an elegant rock and tile shower and an antique dresser fitted with a sink.

The kitchen is original to the homestead and is fitted with a refrigerator, stove and oven, and fireplace with candles. The dogtrot serves as the house’s living room, with an oversized leather sofa and chairs. A wide covered porch furnished with comfortable rocking chairs runs the width of the house and overlooks the Texas Garden.
