The gem of the Hoffman Haus complex. An old German homestead dating to 1871, this fabulous stone farmhouse offers two bedrooms. The larger of the two features a four poster mahogany bed set in front of a painted theatre backdrop dating to the mid-nineteenth century. The attached bathroom sports a large Jacuzzi tub, separate rock and tiled shower and handcrafted stone fireplace with ceramic logs. The second bedroom offers cozy comfort with a pine four poster bed and romantic corner fireplace. The adjoining bath offers old fashioned elegance with a claw foot bathtub. The Basse House kitchen is original to the homestead as is its fireplace. The house's living room with oversized leather sofa and chairs is located in what used to be the "dog trot", a feature of many houses built in Texas during the 1800's. Finally, a wide covered porch furnished with wooden garden furniture runs the width of the house and overlooks the Texas Garden.
